As our Actuarial Manager, Research and Analytics, you’ll play a key role in helping Zurich make smarter decisions through data, insight, and innovation. Working across actuarial, pricing, finance, and business teams, you’ll turn complex information into meaningful recommendations that improve customer outcomes, strengthen performance, and support long-term growth. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified actuary who enjoys combining traditional actuarial expertise with modern analytics, AI, and emerging technologies. You’ll help shape future strategies, uncover new opportunities, and contribute to Zurich’s ongoing digital transformation journey.

You will also be responsible for the following:

• Deliver insights and recommendations through actuarial analysis and broader data exploration 
• Investigate trends in claims, customer behaviour, and risk to support business decision making 
• Support assumption setting, experience investigations, pricing reviews, and industry submissions 
• Drive innovation through advanced analytics, machine learning, AI, and automation initiatives 
• Partner with finance, pricing, and business stakeholders to influence strategy and outcomes 
• Present analytical findings and recommendations to local, regional, and global stakeholders

You are naturally curious and enjoy solving complex problems while finding practical solutions. You build strong relationships, communicate with confidence, and thrive in collaborative environments where innovation, continuous improvement, and customer outcomes are at the centre of decision making.

To be successful, you will have the following:

•  Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline 
• Fellowship of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia or an equivalent professional actuarial qualification 
• Experience in actuarial or statistical modelling within insurance, reinsurance, or consulting environments
• Strong capability in machine learning and statistical modelling techniques including GLM, GAM, or GBM 
• Proficiency in SQL and modern data platforms, with programming skills in Python or R
• Experience translating complex analysis into actionable business insights and stakeholder recommendations
